Charity
Spotlights is a not-for-profit organisation, making donations from any surpluses we make from our activities to local charities. We continue to be benefactors of the Ascot Day Centre and have donated in excess of £14,500 to the Paul Bevan and Thames Hospice charity and others since our formation in 1991.
Our charity for 2017/2018 is Alice’s Youth Music Memorial Fund
In 2014, teenager Alice Gross, a former pupil of Spotlights Music Director Serena Kay, was murdered in West London. Alice was a keen musician, who played the violin and piano, wrote and sang her own songs, and could turn her hand to any instrument – she was learning guitar and hoped, eventually, to have a career in music. Following Alice’s death, her family created Alice’s Youth Music Memorial Fund in her honour, to help provide a sustainable legacy of music-making for disadvantaged children.
